Mercy Ministries

Immanuel is convinced the whole Bible teaches that those whom God saves are to dedicate their entire lives to loving the Lord. A magnificent and large part of that life dedicated to loving the Lord is characterized by mercifully loving neighbors as ourselves. We intentionally give ourselves to "doing good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Galatians 6:10) Our Deacons are set apart for the purpose of making sure there is not a needy person among us (Acts 4:34). As a community, we labor to bear each others burdens and so fulfill the Law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). These burdens sometimes include relief in time of disaster and also development in time of need.

Although most of our mercy takes place organically as relationships grow and develop, we also have formally organized mercy ministries.
