Somali ESL
Immanuel takes seriously its call to preach the Gospel abroad, but also in our own neighborhood and nation. This happens in various ways and specifically in these ministries:

On Wednesday evenings at 5pm, members from Immanuel teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to Somali refugees. This is a marvelous opportunity to extend mercy to those who will function much better in American society with functional English language skills. All of the Somali people who desire to learn better English are also Muslims. In light of this, we use the Bible to teach English. We use the life of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels to formulate our English lessons and all throughout our time together, we are lifting up Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth, and the Life and the only way to get to the Father.
